Progress Cards ~ Review & Giveaway

Sponsored by Tomoson.com

I was recently sent a package from Progress Cards for review.  I received a  “Back to School”  sample pack which included a Progress Book and 15 progress cards.  The progress cards and book are designed to help children with certain aspects of their life – establishing a good homework routine, how to respond to putdowns, ways to stick up for others, tips on taking tests, and much more!

Progress Cards are designed by Scott Ertl, counselor and father.  He developed the cards in 2002 “as a way to record effective strategies for specific behaviors and issues. He has recorded effective tips and techniques that have directly helped hundreds of children deal with divorce, friendships, death of a loved one, bullies, etc”.

I sat down with my daughter, who has just started 4th grade, to go over the book and cards.  She filled out the inside cover of the book which has you rate certain areas of your life.  She was able to decide for herself what she thought she needed help on, like to focus and listen better, and what areas she thought she was doing great in, like eating healthy.  Once we noted the areas she wanted help in, we looked through the cards to find the match.  The cards give you tips and suggestions on how you can improve in each area.

We both enjoyed reading the tips and found ourselves reading all of the cards just to see what they suggested.  I found it a great way to talk to my daughter about school and life and hear her thoughts.

I would recommend these cards to anyone with school age children.  Whether their in private school, public school, or home school, these cards and book would be great!

You can go here to download a couple of free progress cards to see what you think about them.  Go here to download a copy of the Progress Book for free. You can also order the complete set of 70 cards plus 1 book for just $$16.99 + $5.50 s/h.  Each card is printed on colored card stock.
